Ozell Heavener Childs, 92, died July 9, 2008, at the Magnolia Regional Health Center. She was a member of Kossuth Church of Christ, a homemaker and a seamstress. She was a precious Christian who loved her family and friends and worked hand in hand with Mr. Woodrow in raising and harvesting the crops, milking the cows, and planting and harvesting the food from their garden. She enjoyed working with her flowers.
Services were at the Magnolia Funeral Home Chapel of Memories in Corinth. Burial was in Forrest Memorial Park Cemetery.
Survivors included her husband of 72 years, Woodrow Childs of Corinth; three sons, Minister G.W. Childs (Sherra) of Corinth, Minister Rex Childs (Shelby) of Dixon, Ky., and Minister Jerry Childs (Linda) of Corinth; seven grandchildren, William Childs (Jennifer) of Jackson, Tenn., Minister Hayden Childs (Lisa) of Haleyville, Ala., Minister Tim Childs (Betty) of Baldwyn, Tabitha Puryear (Minister Darrell) of Greenville, Ky., John Mark Childs of Princeton, Ky., Jennifer Markham (Joey) of Dyersburg, Tenn., and Kim Pharr (Dr. Jonathan) of Saltillo; 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter; her father, G.B. Heavener; her mother, Bannie Ralph Heavener; two brothers, Learsley Heavener and Lindsey Heavener; and three sisters, Lela Hughey (Britt), Willie Mae Mauney (Dewitt) and her twin sister, Estelle Heavener.
