Alice C. Basden, 91, died July 20, 2008, at her home. She was born Jan. 4, 1917, in Alcorn County to Jeff and Sally Killough. She was a homemaker and a member of Biggersville Pentecostal Church. She enjoyed working with flowers, quilting, sewing, reading, cooking and taking care of her grandchildren.
Services were at Biggersville Pentecostal Church. Burial was in Antioch No. 2 Cemetery. Coleman Funeral Home of Corinth was in charge.
Survivors included eight sons, Roy Basden, Walter Basden (Barbara), Bobby Joe Basden (Dorothy), Donald Basden, David Basden (Carolyn), Jerry Basden and Travis Basden, all of Rienzi, and Willie Basden (Micky) of Chicago; four daughters, Darnell White and Nora Gray (John) of Corinth, and Shirley Jones (Wayne) and Betty Timbes (Ray) of Booneville; one brother, George Killough of Las Vegas; 31 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Grady Basden; her children, Ray Basden, Lorene Jacobs, Velma Burcham and Mary Lawson; a daughter-in-law, Betty Sue Basden; a son-in-law, Charlie Burcham; her parents; and several brothers and sisters.
