Frances Harville Harris, 80, died April 4, 2009, at her daughter’s home in Somerville, Tenn. She was a member of New Hope Church of Christ and a homemaker. She loved her family and friends, and enjoyed reading, church activities, baking, cooking, doing charity work, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Services were at New Hope Church of Christ with burial in New Hope Church of Christ Cemetery. Magnolia Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors included two sons, Stephen Harris (Roberta) of Clinton, Tenn., and Hal Harris of Corinth; a daughter, Sandra “Sandy” Harris Jarrett of Somerville, Tenn.; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a sister, Stella Burcham of Booneville; three sisters-in-law, Ella Newcomb, Joyce Newcomb and Billie Harris; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J.E. Harris; a son, Jeffrey Harris; a daughter, Brenda Susan Harris; a son-in-law, Terry Jarrett; her father, Benjamin Franklin Harville; her mother, Willie Mae Greer Harville; a brother, Harold Harville; three sisters, Lorene Vick (Orville), Christine Roach (James) and Maurine Hemby (Albert); her father-in-law, Marvel A. “Marvin” Harris; her mother-in-law, Ludie Mae Harris; four brothers-in-law, Leon Burcham, Cecil Harris, M.C. Harris and Vester Newcomb; and a sister-in-law, Myra Ann Harris.
