Rodney Carroll Sloan, 42, died April 16, 2009, in Hardin County, Tenn. He was a studio musician who enjoyed playing multiple instruments. He also enjoyed reading, studying history and reading the Bible.
Services were at Memorial Funeral Home with burial in Union Cemetery.
Survivors included his mother, Janira Essary of Corinth; his father and stepmother, David and Joan Sloan of Walnut; one brother, Denny Ray Sloan (Gretchen) of Memphis; one sister, Tina Sloan Kornegay (Nathan) of Walnut; one niece, Hanna Sloan of Memphis.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Arch and Loveta Essary, and E.W. and Pearl Sloan.
