Travis Land Wallace, 71, died April 18, 2009, at his residence. He was a lifelong member of Lakeview Missionary Baptist Church, which was founded by his father, James Otha Wallace. He served there as a deacon, an adult Sunday School Teacher and was privileged to work with the bus and youth ministry for which he had a special love. He was also a Gideon and a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a carpenter, building contractor and owner of Barnes and Wallace Building Supply. He was a champion bass fisherman and loved hunting of all kinds.
Services were at Lakeview Missionary Baptist Church with burial in the Farmington Bapist Church Cemetery. Magnolia Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors included his wife of 52 years, Margaret Rickett Wallace; two sons, Timothy Land Wallace (Kay) and Mark Wallace (Angie), all of Corinth; a special granddaughter, Mary Annis Wallace; three grandsons, Wyatt Landon Wallace (Brook), Brad Guthrie (Tisha) and Barron Guthrie; three great-grandsons; one great-granddaughter; one brother, Ronald Keith “Ron” Wallace (Debbie) of Orlando, Fla.; two sisters, Ann Ross (Melvin) and Lynda Wall (Steve), both of Corinth; two sisters-in-law, Betty Jane Glisson (Bill) of Corinth and Margie Jordan (John) of Forrest City, Ark.; one brother-in-law, Jimmy Rickett (Shirley) of Corinth; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Rev. James Otha Wallace; his mother, Annis Wallace Rencher; and his parents-in-law, John and Bertie Rickett.
