Leonard E. Sadowski, 82, died April 19, 2009, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church and a retired supervisor for the Dana Corp. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in the Philippines. He was a member of the American Legion, the VFW, Elks Lodge 2573 and the Knights of Columbus.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. James Catholic Church with burial with military honors in Henry Cemetery. Magnolia Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors included his stepdaughters, Kathy Gann Fuqua (Jerry) of Olive Branch and Dianne Gann Elam (Duran) of Tupelo; his stepgrandchildren, Kyra Fuqua Cossey (Jay) of New Albany, Kim Fuqua Campbell (Brad) of Madison, Kelley Fuqua Richardson (Chris) of Olive Branch, Tonya Elam Watts (Brian) of Clarksville, Tenn.; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Logann Cossey, Meredith Cossey, Jordan Campbell, Ella Richardson and Luke Watts; a niece, Pat Krzyzewski (Bill) of Chicago; two great-nieces, Cherisse Joshi (Pa’al) and Lynette Kenpgen (John); a great-great-niece, Alexa Joshi; two great-great-nephews, Matthew Kenpgen and Daniel Kenpgen; a special friend, Peggy Anderson.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Mildred Sadowski; his father, John Sadowski; his mother, Francis Olakna Sadowski; and a sister, Helen Wozney.
