Mary Magdeline Hardin Smith, 85, died April 24, 2009, at her home. She was a member of Tobes Chapel Church and a retired factory worker. She loved her family and friends, and enjoyed working in her flowers, going to church and spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Services were at Magnolia Funeral Home Chapel of Memories withburial in Vanderford Cemetery.
Survivors included sons, Bennie (Betty) Smith and Monte (Donna) Smith, both of Glen; a daughter, Jo (Jerry) Allred of Burnsville; 10 grandchildren, Jill (Mike) Lee of Burnsville; Jeff (Mary) Allred, Rick (Sherrie) Smith, Celine (Chris) Boucher, Monica (Jay) Jones, all of Glen, Dalana Essary, Toni (Wayne) Glidewell, all of Corinth, Missy (Jonathan) Shultz of Mt. Juliet, Tenn., Tina (Steve) James of Chattanooga; Tanya (Victor) Jude of Pell City, Ala.; 14 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; a daughter-in-law, Jamie Smith; a sister, Litha (Johnny) Davis of Corinth; and other relatives and numerous friends.
Shewas preceded in death by her husband, William Smith; a son, William “Scottie” Smith; her parents Sarah Elizabeth Timmons and John Hardin; a brother, Irvin Hardin; and sisters, Ollive Wood, Pearl Vanderford, Dolly Manness, Dora Mae Childers, Velma Williams, Minnie McVey and Beulah Sellers.
