Lorene Hancock Spencer, 77, died Tuesday, April 28, 2009, at her home. A native of Alcorn County, she was born Feb. 2, 1932, to Larry and Lessie Rogers Hancock. She worked in the garment industry. She was a member of Strickland Baptist Church.
Services were at the Corinthian Funeral Home with burial in Lone Oak Cemetery.
Survivors included two sons, Howard J. Spencer (Billie) and Terry Wayne Spencer (Beverly), both of Corinth; two daughters, Linda Jo Spencer (companion, Mary) and Joyce Harris, both of Corinth; grandchildren, Markettia Tharp, Bobby Worsham, Ronnie Harris, Gary Harris, T.J. Spencer and Austin Reed; a foster granddaughter, Connie Bowers; six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Howard Spencer; one daughter, Carolyn Worsham; her parents; one sister, Irene Essary; and one brother, Billy Hancock.
