Gene Autry Bobo, 73, died April 30, 2009, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Memphis. He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. He was a retired construction worker and a U.S. Army veteran. He loved his family and friends, and enjoyed dirt track racing, watching racing on T.V., fishing, deer hunting, and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Services were at Bethlehem Baptist Church with burial with military honors in the church cemetery. Magnolia Funeral Home of Corinth was in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors included his wife of 48 years, Susie Bobo of Walnut; one son, Rudy Bobo (Regina) of Walnut; one daughter, Pamela Bobo (Walnut); grandchildren, Crystal Robinson, Travis Bobo, Tracy Bobo (Leah), Samantha Cruz, Regina Williams (Daniel) and Robert Emanuel Cruz; great-grandchildren, Rebecca Crum, Hannah Crum, Ethan Tucker, Austin Williams, Emily Thomas, Destiny Bobo and Grace Bobo; stepgrandchildren, Courtney Settlemires and Stephanie Settlemires; two brothers, Walter Leroy Bobo of Horn Lake and Dave Bobo (Deloris) of Corinth; four sisters, Ruth Barnes (W.C.) of Falkner, Elaine Colton and Genieva Glisson, both of Corinth, and Willie Grace Clolinger of Gulfport.
He was preceded in death by his father, Walter L. Bobo; his mother, Hermie Jones Bobo; a brother, Maurice Bobo; and two sisters, Eloise Newton and Floella Burkhalter.
