Alvin Ray Follin, 74, died May 6, 2009, at Magnolia Regional Health Center. He was born Oct. 9, 1935, in Alcorn County to Kelsey and Eva Follin. He was a heavy equipment operator for many years and worked for Buddy Ayers Construction. He attended Lone Oak Baptist Church. He enjoyed spoiling his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Services were at Lone Oak Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Memorial Funeral Home of Corinth was in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors included his daughters, Janet Inman (Larry) of Selmer, Tenn., and Wanda Settlemires (Phillip) and Eva Dunn (Donnie) of Corinth; sister, Cathy Cutberth (Milton) of Corinth; brothers, Lloyd Follin (Lila) of Corinth; grandchildren, Nicholas and Kevin Inman, Shae Martin (Clint), Lorie White (Scott), Clay Settlemires, Michael Dunn (Nicole), Trace Dunn and Krystal; great-grandchildren; special friends, Billy J. “Fox” Martin, Robbie Lambert, Danny “Shorty” Mincey and Ronnie Kuykendall.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Laverne Follin; his parents; a sister, Gladys Mathis Smith; and two brothers, Leon and L.C. Follin.
