Donald Joe Sanders, 72, died May 8, 2009, at the VA Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. He was an Army Spec 4 Corporal Veteran who loved his country and honored his flag. He served his community as a City Alderman in Corinth from 1986 to 1994. He enjoyed country music as well as spending time with his coffee buddies. He was a member of SCV, VFW and the American Legion. His hobby was loving his grandchildren.
Services were at Hight Funeral Home with burial in the Forrest Memorial Park. Hight Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors included his wife, Diana Gibbs Sanders; son, Todd Sanders (Nanci); daughter, Allison Harrison (Michael); grandchildren, Morgan Harrison, Tice Sanders, Rebecca Sanders, Katherine Harrison and Rachel Sanders; sisters, Dora Berry, Edna Owens (Earl) and Linda Adams (Ernest); and brothers, Bill Sanders (Mazie), Travis Sanders (Betty) and Wayne Sanders (Mary Lee).
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Velma Sanders; brothers, Horace Sanders and Bob Sanders; and in-laws, S.O. and Nina Gibbs.
