Maxine Robinson Staggs, 79, died May 13, 2009, at the Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth. She was born Feb. 8, 1930, in Alcorn County to Keener and Alma Michael Robinson. She was a member of Gaston Baptist Church. She loved gardening, flowers, working crossword puzzles, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Services were at the McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Oaklawn Memorial Park.
Survivors included her husband of 58 years, Charles Staggs; one son, Bill (Marilyn) Staggs; three sisters, Margie (William) Bridges, Oma (Dave) Drinkwine and Earnie Yarrington; three brothers, K.B. (Louise) Robinson, Charles “Buddy” (Sharon) Robinson and Joe (Sandra Kay) Robinson; five grandchildren, Michael (Sandy) Staggs, Dena (Scott) Knight, Josh (Terah) Sparks, Becky (Mark) Luker and Caleb Sparks; seven great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Earline Robinson, Christine Staggs and Mable Tice; and two brothers, Hill Robinson and Shell Robinson.
