Robert Neil Johnson, 64, died May 15, 2009, at Magnolia Regional Medical Center in Corinth. He was born July 7, 1944, to Mark Edgar Johnson and Lula Mae Keenum Johnson. He was a Baptist. He worked at Tippah County Hospital as an ambulance driver for 37 years and for Tippah County 5th District Maintenance Department for 16 years. He loved fishing, his grandchildren and his family.
Services were at Ripley Funeral Home Chapel with burial in New Prospect Cemetery.
Survivors included his wife, Jama Kay Nelms Johnson of Dumas; one daughter, Michelle Rakestraw of Ripley; three sons, Mike Johnson (Judy) and Mark Johnson (Anna) of Ripley, and Jon Erwin of Dumas; three brothers, James Johnson of Ripley, and Johnny Johnson (Elizabeth) and Perry Johnson (Nylene) of Falkner; five grandchildren, Micah Johnson, Pierce Johnson, Parker Rakestraw, Jamie Johnson and Ivy Johnson, all of Ripley.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Jean Smith; and two brothers, Billy Johnson and Chester Johnson.
