Tom, none of the Amite Duck's migrated out of Amite as early as 1850. The earliest DUCK to migrate outside of Amite was Lorenzo Washington Duck and he shows up with his second wife Martha A. Hamilton (also of Amite) in Red River Parish, Louisiana in the 1880 census (he left Amite sometime after mid-1860's). He had his two daugthers with him Theodosia Duck b. abt 1866 & Justine E. Duck b. abt 1864. Justine who married a John E. Carter Dec 23, 1880 in Red River Parish...

Do you descend down from William Warren Johnson b. abt 1796 that married Polly Burch? If so I do have a large amount of descendant information relating to their one daughter Jane Johnson that married William Lilly... Their children tangle up with Duck desendants (not the DUCK surname)..

I imagine the DUCK you mention comes from the Tennesse Ducks or Georgia branches... DUCK forum would be best place to ask if your interested more in her.

Sincerely,

Mary Duck Pallon
