I am pursuing my Doughty line from Homer Cecil Doughty, d.. Natchez, MS to Levi P.Doughty, whose obituary I have from E. Feleciana Parish, LA in May, 1854. I am trying to find some more documentation on Alexander Scott Doughty, my great grandfather. b.11 Nov.1836, d.20 March, 1884 in Amite County, MS. (No records there). I do have his widow's pension application (Eliza Reeves Doughty). She states in the application that he enlisted for the South (Civil War) in Gloster, MS and served in the 18th Cavalry Battalion, was captured and paroled at end of war in Gainsville, AL in 1863. Alex S. wss married in Wilkinson Co., MS and about the only documentation I have is his and Eliza's marriage papers from that county. I sorely need more documentation for Alex Doughty and really need his death certificate.-Robert Yeager Notify Administrator about this message?
