Kathye,
I'm a McLain family researcher, and know that Eliza Ann McLain, daughter of Allen McLain and Naomi Bateman married Hugh McRaine in Amite County in about 1823-1824. They had 3 children, all named in the will of Allen McLain in mid 1850's.
I believe that Hugh McRaine was the son of Murdock McRaine.
Do any of your records indicate that John McRaine had a brother named John? Or that Murdock had son named Hugh?
I was able to find one of Hugh and Eliza Ann's sons in AR, but haven't found anything at all on the other two.
