Searching for the parents of ELIJAH W. LITTLE…he was born abt. 1833 in MS, and married NANCY ANN E. ROSAMOND who was born abt. 1835 in SC, she was the daughter of SAMUEL E. ROSAMOND and FRANCIS E. “FANNY” HILL. ELIJAH died in Faulkner Co., AR, after 1880 and NANCY died August 2, 1909 in Okemah, Okfuskee Co., OK., at the home of her married granddaughter Ora Pearl Harrell Farnum.
Their daughter MELISSA C. LITTLE, b. November 26, 1859 in Kiosciusko, Attala Co., MS, married JOHN HENRY HARRELL of Cadron, Faulkner Co., AR, on August 06, 1876 (in same). She died May 13, 1940 in Smithville, Bastrop Co., TX and was buried in the Whitharral Cemetery, Hockley Co., TX, next to her husband.
Some on-line sources show ROLLY LITTLE and NANCY ELLISON LITTLE as ELIJAH’S parents, however, could it possibly be JOHN LITTLE and RUTHY (UNKNOWN)? The 1850 Attala Co, MS, Census shows the following and please note Elijah is with the John Little family – is there someone out there who knows or has something in records to point me in the right direction?
