Warren Co. NC - Pitchford/Williams Connection

Seeking information for a friend who is descended from John W. Williams who married Elizabeth "Betty" Ridley Pitchford. These families were connected to a number of other well known Warren County families--Cheeks, Clantons, Hintons, Moodys, etc. Elizabeth's father was Dr. T.J. Pitchford of Warren Co., NC.

John W. Williams migrated from Warren Co., NC to Madison Co. MS with his parents Dr. G. Williams and Lucinda Clanton Williams circa 1850. His mother's father was Dudley Clanton. John and his parents lived in the Sharon community in Madison County.

John later married Elizabeth Pitchford who was also from Warren Co., NC circa 1860. It is assumed that Elizabeth died in Madison Co., MS in the late 1860's. Elizabeth and John had four children--2 sons and 2 daughters.

By 1870 John was married again to a woman named Dolly G.(maiden name unknown).

By 1880 John and his second wife Dolly were living in Attala Co., MS.

Would like to find the answers to the following:

1. When and where did John die?
2. When and where did John's father (Dr. G. Williams) die? and what did the "G" stand for?
3. When and where did John's mother Lucinda Clanton Williams die?
4. What was the maiden name of his second wife and what year did they marry?
5. What happened to John's son, John Jr.?
6. Did John W. Sr. serve in the Civil War?
