Attala Co marriages show Thurman Kellum married Mae Hopkins Aug 17 1929.
There is a Verna(?Vernon) Hopkins 12 living with Charlie Allen and wife Lena in Attala Co.as brother in law, all b MO; and they are also in Center TWP.
1930 census for Center TWP shows John & Sarrah living apart. She is listed as head and he is listed with another family as boarder, both state they are divorced.
You can go to rootsweb.com and put Thurman Kellum in the search string to see further back on this family. They have that Thurman married Ruby Moore, with no date. Attala Co marriages show they married, in Bk U pg 56. He is listed as James Thurman Kellum and she is just Ruby Moore. The last date on this marriage index is for Bk T with the dates ending with Jan 31 1941, so they married abt 1941-42.
There is a James Kellum b 1907 died in 1976 in Leake Co MS on the SSDI. Since there are no birth indices and no census after 1930, there is no way to tell if James Edward had any siblings.
