Thank you so much, Scott, for trying to help me. Most of Parthenia's children preceeded her in death and we have not been able to locate any death certificates or graves for them except the last son, William A. Jones. His death certificate only had his father's name listed and his immediately family couldn't tell us anything helpful. I found Parthenia (spelled Parthina here) on the 1885 Attala Co., MS Educable Children's List, New Providence 3rd Dist. with her last two children, M. P. 18 female, and A. J. 16 male. Jeremiah died abt 1873 and on the 1880 Attala Co. Census, the childred were living in different homes. My g-grandmother, Merlene Elizabeth, 16 at the time, was living with the John M. Hodges family. A. J.(aka Andy) was with a Morgan family and Parthenia was listed as a laborer with the Andrew M. Jones (actually Andrew W. Jones) family. Also, there seems to be a family connection to Friley Jones who lived in the same area for a good many years. We have never been able to make a connection. I will be going back to Attala Co. again soon as I have never looked into the Armstrong possibility while there. Wherever Jeremiah and Parthenia lived, there were always Armstrongs next door or nearby. My g-grandmother, Merlene Elizabeth (Mattie) died when my grandmother was a small child. It appears Parthenia might have died as a pauper in Attala Co. around 1900 If so, and if I can find her, I would love to have her moved to a cemetery plot among our family members. I appreciate so much your suggestions and will certainly use them! Do you need a lookup in Attala Co. that I might do for you? Claudette Notify Administrator about this message?
