Thrasher/Westbrook marriages in TX.
Jesse P. Thrasher (son of Thomas T.) died in Benton County, MS in 1873. His widow, Rebecca [Nabours] Thrasher, decided to go to Hopkins County, TX where some of the Thrasher in-laws lived. She left for TX in a wagon train with the Westbrook family, possibly others. On the trip some of the Thrasher boys became very strongly attracted to some of the Westbrook girls. When they reached Henderson County the Westbrook family decided to settle there. The Thrasher boys convinced their mother, Rebecca, to stay there rather than going on to Hopkins County where their Thrasher uncles lived..
Joel V. married Sussannah Westbrook and a son, Bryan, was born but he died shortly after the child was born. Later his brother, James P. Thrasher, married Sussannah and they had several children.
A third Thrasher brother married Louvenia (spelling) Westbrook and there were 9 or 10 children born to this couple.
I have some info about Jesse Pryor Thrasher and his siblings. I also have a bit of info about his ancestors.
Will "EXCHANGE" info about the older generations for info about Rebecca & Jesse’s descendants.
