Does anyone have any information about William Robert Cawthon and Sallie Clayton, who married on August 28, 1896 in Benton County, Mississippi? There was a son named Elmer Cawthon born on May 14, 1898. William Robert Cawthon was my great grandfather. He died on August 4, 1964 in Dallas, Texas. There are unsolved mysteries to the Cawthon family in the Dallas, Texas area about this marriage and son. My great grandfather up and moved to Texas sometime after the turn of the century and married another woman named Josephine Eula Cogdill in 1907. He did not claim Elmer as his son, and the family does not know if he even divorced Sally. Would really appreciate finding a contact in the Clayton family who knows about this couple and who can share the Clayton's point of view and facts about this. Would be thrilled to get copies of any pictures of her and/or them together as a couple. Many thanks.
