I am looking for obit for Colonel Lewis G Galloway. there is a funeral notice in Memphis Tn paper dated Jan 30 or Feb 1,1869.
It is just 4 lines long. The mortuary report says cause of death.
But he lived in or around Bolivar most of his life. He was a very weathy Plantation owner and had 200 slaves. Was Sec Of state of Ms from 1841-1843. In 1860 he is in Sheby, Tn with his second wife Myra and 3 sons, 2 by precious marriage a David D Galloway and Lewis G Galloway JR. His wife is believed to have stayed in Tn but his 2 sons are in Bolivar in the 1860 and 1880 census.
Any help would be appreciated like maybe a name for newspapers in that town or a link.
Thank you for your help in advance.
Kristeen Galloway
