My great Grandfather, Robert W. McDonald, drowned on the Mississippi March 3, 1877. I believe the location was near Terrene, Bolivar County, Mississippi. He was a carpenter on a boat that went up and down the Mississippi from the St. Louis, Missouri area. I have a letter he sent, prior to his death,it requests his wife to write to him in care of W. M. Ezell, Terren, Bolivar, Mississippi.
I just wondered if anyone knows of records available in your area that might tell me more about the event. Thank you for any assistance you can give me.
