SHELTON, DAVIS, WOOD(S), GILLIAM, BURNSIDES, RODGERS--BOLIVAR COUNTY, MS. 1900
Seeking information on any of the above surnames. JOHN THOMAS (TOM) SHELTON III m. MARY ELIZABETH WOOD(S) Dec. 31, 1899, Bolivar Co. Her parents were WILLIAM WASHINGTON WOOD(s) and ADA SEARCY. Mary E. Wood Shelton d. abt 1910. TOM SHELTON was b. Nov. 25, 1872, Ashley Co., AR, it is believed, and Mary E. Wood was b. probably Webster Co., MS.
JOHN THOMAS SHELTON's parents were JOHN THOMAS SHELTON II and NANCY GILLIAM. It is not known when or where he died but she is found on the 1880 Bolivar Co. census as NANCY SHELTON with the following children: Sa? Shelton (male), b. abt 1867 (age 13), b. AR; Tom, b. AR, age 8 ; M. {Mittie Lucille?}, age 5; b. AR; and Joseph, age 3, b. AR. Nancy is shown as being "widowed/divorced," presumably widowed. Nancy later married W. E. BURNSIDES, and they had a child Emmet/Emmit, who married LIDA WOOD, sister to MARY ELIZABETH WOOD.

March 1887; LIDA MAY WOOD, b. Nov. 1889; CORRY, b. Jan 1894, d. 1897; CORA LEE WOOD, b. May 11, 1897, d. Sept. 28, 1900; LORENA, b. Aug. 5, 1900, d. Mar. 27, 1904; and Clarence Wood, b. Aug. 19, 1906, d. Aug. 31, 1906.
I would appreciate any information on any of the above families. I am directly related to John T. Shelton and Mary Elizabeth Wood.
