"Mint" Goss Memorial in Applewhite Cemetery, Vaiden, MS

Can anyone identify "Mint" Goss as identified on a faded memorial located in the old Applewhite Cemetery outside of Vaiden on Hwy. 430? There appears to be some family connection to the Rev. James Applewhite (1792-1872) and wife Mary Ann Applewhite, their son Leonidas L. Applewhite (1839-1856), and Dr. J. A. Applewhite (1824-1893) and wife S. F. Applewhite. The old cemetery memorial reads as follows: "In memory of 'Mint' Goss, a faithful friend of our family." Who were these families and what was their relationship to "Mint" Goss? In 1880, Arminta Goss (possibly Araminta, age 25, F) was living in the household of Dr. J. A. Applewhite and Sarah F. Applewhite. There are several other interesting connections between the APPLEWHITE and GOSS families. I'm greatly appreciative of any help and can share more information. Sincerely, Walter Goss, Montgomery, AL (previously of Kosciusko, MS)
