I have him on the 1900 and 1910 censuses with his mother. He apparently then came to San Antonio, TX after the death of his mother, Anna Jamison. She died about 1918--best I can tell from the court papers on the estate. My Blair g-gparents moved to SA in about 1907. Minnie, her family (except my grandmother and Minnie's husband who remained in TX), and Minnie's sister's family all moved to Oakland, CA in early 1924.
I'm guessing from what you had on the 1920 CA census, Dewitt was already in CA when the rest decided to move.
The girl I talked to about Dewitt said her father was a child from Bessie's second marriage. He remembered seeing Dewitt and Bessie's son some when he was young. I think he was the one she meant when she said she heard he had died in prison, but I don't know how to research this. I will see if I can find the info she sent me several years ago at home.
I have a WWI photo that I think might be Dewitt in a uniform. He is the only one in that family who would have been of the right age to have served. My grandmother had one older brother, but I know it wasn't him. Her two younger brothers were probably too young.
