Al thanks for your response regarding the Choctaw CO book. I have ordered the book through our library, have my fingers crossed that they can find it. I am in hopes that the book will have information on any of the following family names, Avants, Sharp, Hunter, and McKnight all of which arrived in Choctaw CO about 1840. My great grandfather Thomas Warren Avants left MS shortly after the Civil War. Appreciate any help you might be.
