William Gardner Family 1840's

I'm seeking information about WILLIAM GARDNER who was born in Georgia abt. 1813. He married SARAH HUNTER in 1837 in Lowndes Co., Alabama, and then migrated to Choctaw Co., Mississippi. All of his children were born in Choctaw County: (1) Mary J. born 21 April 1839; (2.) Francis A. born 02 December 1842; Martha E. born 12 February 1844; Susanah R. born 10 January 1845; John Allison born 20 March 1847.

Perhaps, William Gardner and his wife Sarah [Hunter] might have some relationship with R. S. Hunter who resided in Lowndes Co., Alabama, at the time of Sarah Hunter's marriage to William Gardner. I also wonder if Robert Hunter and James Hunter who were in Choctaw Co., Mississippi, from the mid 1830's on into the 1840's might have been brothers or cousins of Sarah.

I've really hit a brick wall searching for the father of this William Gardner. There are many, many William Gardners, etc.

William Gardner and Sarah [Hunter]'s son, John Allison Gardner migrated to Texas, married Lodusca Mitchell (daughter of George W. Mitchell), and became a Methodist preacher.

Any information anyone might have to share about these two families - Gardner and Hunter - would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!!

Thanks, Carolyn
