Jim, I will keep you in mind if I come across much more, but I should have been clearer on one point. The Carroll County to which I referred is Carroll County, Mississippi and not Carroll County, Tennessee. Montgomery County, Mississippi was formed in 1871 from, roughly speaking, the west half of Choctaw County, Mississippi and the East half of Carroll County, Mississippi. Up until then, Carroll and Choctaw County bordered on each other. My Williams did come through Tennessee, however. My g-g-g-g-grandfather, Captain Isaac Williams (ca. 1774-ca. 1850's) moved from North Carolina to Tennessee around the time of the War of 1812. He commanded a company of Calvary (mounted riflemen) during the War of 1812. He was severely wounded at the Battle of Talledega, but apparently recovered sufficient enough to again take command of the company, but he was permanently disable nevertheless. However, while I am not certain where he settled when he first arrived in Tennessee it appears to possibly have been in Lincoln County, but later in may also have lived in Davidson and in Bedford County areas of Tennessee. He didn't remain in Tennessee, but moved onward, settling for a spell in Perry County, Alabama, and from there to Pickens County, Alabama, and then Greene County, Alabama and then he finally moved to Mississippi. He lived first in Carroll County, Mississippi and then moved a few miles east to what was then a part of Choctaw County, Mississippi, but today would be located in Montgomery County, but near the border with present day Choctaw County. During much of this time after the end of the War, he moved around so much because he was living with various sons and sons-in-laws due to his disability and apparently did not stay permanently with any one of them, but moved around among his children's households. (He had been shot in the lung and also had an elbow shattered at Talledega.)
