I am interested in learning more about the my african american gggrandmother, Martha Thompson (Im told her maiden name was Thompson & her mother's last name may have been Barron but I have no proof of that). I'm told Martha was born in Ackerman, MS in 1854. She later married, Ross Thompson, of Winston County, MS and they had 5 daughters: Ora, Leola, Mary, Arcola (my ggrandmother)& Katie. My search hits a brick wall at Arcola's death. I cannot find a birth record for Arcola & nothing for Martha. Anyone with information should contact me. I'd appreciate any information.
