My 3rd greatgrand father was Daniel Pate b. abt 1812 in NC
He married abt 1832 Susannah Graham b abt 1817 in Miss.
Susannah Graham's sister Mary, married Anderson Peter Parker.
Anderson Peter Parker moved to Leon Co. TX prior to 1850 from Clarke Co. MS.
In 1858, Daniel Pate, his wife Susannah, left in a wagon train from Clarke Co. MS. Their children in that wagon train were:#1 Richmond J. Pate b 1834 md Martha Jane Smith in Clarke Co. MS 2 Sep 1856
#2 Mary b abt 1835 md 1st Z.Z.Blackledge 2nd a Gressett
#3 Nancy b abt 1836 (nothing further) #4 Susannah b. abt 1837 md Benjamin Elkins in Clarke Co. MS (my gg grandparents) #5 Sarah b, abt 1838 (nothing further)
#6 Elizabeth b. abt 1840 md a Wornick. #7 William R. b abt 1842 md cousin Amanda J. Parker. #8 Daniel b abt 1844 is listed in Clarke Co. MS 1850 census, not on 1860 Leon Co. TX) #9 Edward b abt 1845 (nothing further, was not listed in 1850 Clarke Co MS but was in 1860 Leon Co TX. Did they name a son Daniel Edward?) #10 Hannah b abt 1851 (may have md an Oden) #11 Steven b March 22, 1852 md Lacy Ann Slatter. #12 Mariott b. abt 1855 (nothing further) #13 Duncan b. abt 1857 (nothing further) #14 Eli the only child born in Texas. All others born Clarke Co. MS.

Family tradition says Daniel Pate b. abt 1812 was son of Stephen and his mothers maiden name was Lee. No documentation has be found to prove this.

Mary and Susanna Graham had a brother William W. Graham and he and family were also on the wagon train to Texas. According to some of William W. Graham's descendants, he returned to Mississippi to fight for the Confederate Army. His family never heard from him again.

I would like to have the name of the parents of Mary, Susannah and William W. Graham.

There is a Pate DNA Project in progress. If you are a male Pate you would be most welcome to join that group. For more information go to the Pate Family GenForum. Information is posted there. In Septerber there will be a gathering of people who are Pate's and descend from Pate's
Information for that gathering also on Pate GenForum.

Many of the people mentioned above still have ties to Clarke Co. MS and Leon Co. TX. Anderson Peter Parker gave the land for the Parker Cem. in Leon Co. Many Parkers, Pates, and Grahams are buried there. The terrain in Leon Co. TX is much like that of Clarke Co. MS. Those that came early named a creek Shubuta in Leon Co. cbh
