Perhaps we can help each other make some connections.

I have found connections between Phillips Co. AR and Coahoma Co. MS, but Retherford Lunsford is a new name to me. There were Moses, Nimrod and Bartholemew Lunsford, all married in Phillips Co. AR 1850-60. Nimrod had a son, Henry Lunsford b. MS, age 28 & living in Coahoma Co. in 1880, & buried in Maple Hill Cem at Helena, AR in 1924.

Found info at ancestry.com re: North Carolina Marriage Bond of Augustin Lunsford and Lydia Wats on 01 Oct 1788, Wilkes Co. NC.

1850 Census for Coahoma Co. shows James Lunsford, 46, b. TN, Augustin Lunsford, age 31, b. AR and Jacob Lunsford,27, b. MS.

Also at ancestry.com, there is a Jas Lunsford, 21, b. IN and wife Amanda with a child named Augustin Lunsford, age 1, in Monroe Co. IN in 1860, suggesting some connection to my Lunsford family.

I've read of a Lunsford Hotel at Friars Point, Coahoma Co. MS about time of Civil War, & before it became the Stuart Hotel. Seeking info about the Hotel.

Look forward to sharing add'l info. Elizabeth Embrey
