I am looking for information on my Great-Grandmother's Grandaddy Benjamin F. Martin. In a book called "Hometown Mississippi" by James F. Brieger, he writes of the township Martinsville(I always wondered if there was a family relation): MARTINSVILLE,located about five miles south of HAZELHURST,was settled in 1870 and named for Major B.F.Martin, an early settler. Martin, who served as postmaster for the office located in his store, also served as depot agent for the Railroad Station.
I would like to find his parents and siblings. According to the 1850 Census his folks were from South Carolina.
Thank you very much. Hope this info helps others in their search.
