Southaven - Anna Lou Escue, 79, died Saturday, May 17, 2008 at Baptist Memorial Hospital - Desoto. Visitation will begin at 12 p.m. Tuesday, May 20 at Garner Funeral Home in Ripley, TN with the funeral service to follow at 1 p.m. Burial will be in Concord Cemetery in Gates, TN. Mrs. Escue is survived by her husband, Cleveland W. Escue; sons Meredith Escue (Meg) of Eads, TN, Donald Escue of Southaven, MS, Terry Escue of Olive Branch, MS; four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.


Bettye C. Gentry, 71, born in Ashland, MS on September 18, 1936. Passed away on May 17, 2008 after a long illness. Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 20 at Forest Hill South with visitation Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. Burial will be in Forest Hill South Cemetery. Bettye was retired from the FAA. She enjoyed golfing and was a member of the ladies golf association at Bella Vista Country Club for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Gene and a son Terry. She leaves behind three children, her daughter and long time caregiver, Kitty Eder, and her husband, Gary of Olive Branch; her daughter, Karen Bullock and her husband Galen of West Chester, PA and her son, Scott Gentry; six grandchildren, Bekki Dunlap and husband Jim, James Gentry, Leslie and Clay Mason, Brooke and Carly Bullock; two step-grandchildren, Candace Harris and husband Tim, Tony Eder and his wife Laura and three great- grandchildren, James, Sarah and Adeline Dunlap. Bettye also leaves her sister, Eddie Williamson.


Olive Branch - Grace Blair Jobe, 84, passed away Saturday, May 17, 2008, at Baptist Desoto Hospital. Mrs. Jobe, the widow of Roy L. Jobe, was a member of Olive Branch Church of Christ. She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Lee Stampley of Olive Branch and grandsons, Brian Stampley of Ft. Worth, TX and LaBarre Stampley of Como, MS; a son, Joe Astle of Seattle, WA; sisters, Sue Nelson of Milan, TN and Nell Norville of Livonia, MI and a brother, Wadell Blair of Garden City, MI. Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 20, at Brantley Funeral Home in Olive Branch with burial in Blocker Cemetery.
