DEE “DJ” ATLAS HENDERSON, 74, of Memphis, died July 16, 2008. Visitation will be from3-6:30 p.m. Friday, July 25 at N.J. Ford & Sons Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 12 p.m. Saturday, July 25 at Cathedral of God Holy Word Temple, 1110 Faxon. Burial in Memorial Park Cemetery on Poplar Ave. He was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Bell Henderson. He leaves four daughters, Sandra D. Palmer, LaVerne Wright (Tyrone), Patricia Humphreys, Margaret Lee (Shawn); three sons, Gregory Henderson, Sherman Henderson and Eric Henderson, all of Memphis; two sisters, Vera Wheeler and Gloria Robinson, both of Gary, IN; 18 grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.


Nesbit - GEORGIA M. JONES died July 21, 2008. Forest Hill Funeral Home.


Horn Lake - TWILA L. PRESLEY, 76, passed away Monday, July 21, 2008 at her home. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, July 25 at Forest Hill South, with visitation from 5-7 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Forest Hill South Cemetery. Ms.Presley was retired from Allis Chalmers. She was a member of Lake Forest Baptist Church in Walls, also, a former Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Bobby K. Presley. She leaves her children, Linda P. Stein of Horn Lake, Kenneth L. Presley of Collierville, TN, Robert H. Presley of El Centro, CA and Cheryl Renee Briley of Horn Lake; a sister, Sedelia Neiman of TX, 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.


Southaven - TOMMI GATTI SIMCOX, went to be with Jesus on Monday, July 21, 2008 at 9 a.m. After a 2 year battle with breast cancer, Tommi won the Ultimate Victory! Tommi, 31, leaves her loving husband, Jeff Simcox; her precious 5 year old son, Tanner; her Mom, Susie Gilliand Nunnally (TBC); her father, Paul Gatti; two grandmothers, Cherie Gilliand and Sue Gatti; her sister, Brooke Tafoya; and a passel of other family and friends. Tommi belongs to Longview Heights Baptist Church in Olive Branch; was a school teacher and tutor; flourished in network marketing; and; founder of Here’s To A Sweet Recovery, a non-profit organization. Our celebration of Tommi’s life will begin Thursday, July 24, with visitation from 4-8 p.m. and the praise and worship service Friday at 1 p.m. There will also be a short visitation starting at 11 a.m. Friday. All services will be at Longview Heights Baptist Church, 4501 Goodman Road, Olive Branch, MS.
