I am seeking information on my African American Sanders line from MS. I understand my great grandparents, Lizzie and Rance/Ranse Sanders had several children. SOme of the children were: Sammie (stepson to Lizzie), Mollie Bell, Jimmie, Willie Lee, Clifton, Estell(Stella), Doc (Lazell), Mary, and Robert Lee SNADERS. ALl were born in Monroe County, MS.
I am the granddaughter of Jimmie (now James) Sanders. I have met his sister Stella Sanders Gillard and her children. THey have been helpful to assist me with the family tree.
THere is little known about Lazell (Doc) Sanders, I understand he was in the service. Married a woman from the Hattiesburg, MS area and to their union 14 children came. One of the 14 children, children was the parent to Larry Whigham, the professional football player. Larry would be the great great grandson to Lazell(Uncle Doc) and our cousin too.
If there is someone out there that is doing the Sanders tree or knows anything about my line, please contact me soon. I would love to chat with you and get to know that line better. OUr family will be more complete if I knew my Sanders line from Hattiesburg, MS.
