I was told that my great-grandfather, John Duncan McKenzie-son of John McKenzie was born and reared in Hattiesburg. As an adult he moved to Laurel where my grandfather, George Dewey (Mac) McKenzie, as well as his many other siblings, was born and reared. I'm planning a trip, soon to Hattiesburg to search through court records. I was just curious if there might be any distant relatives in the Hattiesburg area I might could get in contact with. I know that my great, great grandfather, John McKenzie, died as a POW in 1863 or 1864 in Camp Chase, Ohio
