I have just found on the newly released records of Hinds Co, MS a Mrs. Betsy Palmer marrying a William Morehouse, 28 Jun 1836. This probably explains Elizabeth Morehouse as Elizabeth Palmer's mother who remarried. Of course, we still do not know her maiden name nor who was the Palmer she married.
