Birth records Early 1800's

Does anyone have first hand experience with finding actual birth records for 1800 -1810? Do they exist and where are they kept. At Familysearch I find some of my ancestors listed with birth year only and Franklin co. MS. with no further information listed. I wish when someone posts these things they would give their name and contact info....Or at least more that a year and county...The ones I have run into have no parents listed ...nothing...are these just guesses or fact?

Also, when ordering marriage records from Franklin Co., what other information is on the record besides the groom/bride name and marriage date?

I guess my concern is spending money on something that has no more info than what is already online.

A family member spent time and money on a ss application and it was according to her "a DUD"...in the parent's name area it had 'dk'. So now are we to assume that this person did'nt know his parents names, or did'nt want to claim his parents? At any rate, the search on this family member has just gone into a whole new direction....right into a brick wall!

Thanks,
Connie
