Daniel Ira Taylor 1830 to 1840 Greene Co MS

Looking for information on Daniel Ira Taylor b. 1/1/1785 Greenock, Scotland d. 10/6/1849 Wayne Co MS and John Fairley b. 1763 Kintyre, Argyllshire, Scotland d. 4/18/1854 Perry Co MS. There is a family oral history which indicates that Daniel married one of John's daughters. The different censuses in which John Fairley appears indicate that he fathered eighteen children. Unfortunately, only about eleven are known.
Both families are found next to each other in the 1820 Jackson Co MS Census. They are relatively close in the 1830 Jackson Co MS Census. Both families migrated north just after that census was completed. John Fairley is also found in the 1830 Perry Co MS Census. And, Daniel Taylor is also found in the 1830 Greene Co MS Census.
Sometime before 1840, Daniel's wife died and the family migrated to Wayne Co MS.
I would appreciate any records for either family, especially anything connecting the two families.
