Looking for info on a POSSIBLE marriage between a male Simmons and a widow??? named Lou Manuel.OF course, not sure of her name either !!!
Tom Manuel told some tall tales,and I can't find his family anywhere.
He did marry Ira Wilburn of Prentiss Co.,MS and have 2 sons in OK in the vicinity of place he listed as his birth place on his SS application.( However, he told he was b. TX and kidnapped by Indians, returned to wrong family. )Son were Roy Claiborn and Elmer Haskell Manuel.He then left this fmaily in Prentiss Co.,MS and took up later with a woman from Muscle Shoals,AL and they lived in Memphis,TN. Roy was my father-in-law. He told me his grandmother married a Simmons, or the Simmons' raised his dad, or something.
I can not find a marriage license for Tom and Ira in Prentiss Co. And ( I wonder WHY??!!!!) I cannot find any one who wants to claim Tom (the teller of tall tales) Manuel or Simmons. I have looked since my son was small and he is now 26 years old. The LDS says there is a paper trail on everyone, but Tom Manuel must be the EXCEPTION to the rule. Can you help me????
