7th Regiment Miss. Inf. History

Very interested in history of old campsite (Camp Clark) Shieldsboro, Hancock Co. which was the home of the 7th Reg't. Miss. from fall of 1861 to February of 1862 prior to their departure for N. Mississippi and Shiloh in April of 1862.

Also interested in location of Cedar Point on Bay St. Louis.

Gathering information from family records on members and other sources for the purpose of writing a Regimental History of
the 7th Regiment Miss. Infantry formed in state service in 1861.

See our website at www.cbacg.edu/7miss/ for rosters and unit designations.

Photos, letters, diaries, family lore and stories.

For the most part these men were from the following counties: Amite, Adams, Franklin, Marion, Walthal, Covington, Lincoln,
Lawrence, Copiah, Jeff Davis, Pike, and other nearby counties.

Also interested in Hoskins Battery, Brookhaven Light Artillery.

Please post your information here and email directly to rskellie@mindspring.com or mail to:
