Don,
After two years, you may or may not see this. I'll try anyway.

I too, descend from James Warden (James, John, John, Isabel) Warden, (or Wardean, Wardine as they preferred to be called. It also indicates a Scottish descent).

James, being born in 1795, may or may not have been, the son of John (found in the early tax records of Ms. Territory, Wayne and Green.) To date, I really don't know of any documented proof, which exist, that confirms yours, or my own theory about this. (I think so too, but not 100% convinced).

I am most interested in the letter you mentioned. It is considered (as far as I'm concerned) a historical find for the family members researching this line. I knew about Martha Chatham, but having not reached that point of the Warden side in research, the letter cuts through a lot of chase and tag. Is there any chance you would be willing to share the contents of the letter?
