Tracing family history in Holmes Co., MS.

I hope to be in Holmes Co. sometime this summer to do research on my family that lived there in the 1830’s. Some lived North of Lexington near what is now known as the Sweetwater Church. Others may have lived South of Lexington. Are there Libraries and Museums in the County or in Lexington with Genealogical research rooms? How are the records in the Court House? Are they readily available? What days are they open and hours of operation?
