Wow, what a mess!

By chance have you checked for a Confederate widow's pension for Helen based on Siddon's service? Almon probably served as well. I see a Wm R. Allman in Company I of the 1st Regiment Miss. Light Artillery and a Wm H. Allman in Company I, 10th Miss Infantry.

Sometimes the pension applications give a little information that may be useful. It would have been filed in whatever state she was living in regardless of which state her late husband served. Check with the Mississippi or Tennessee archives.
