Allen C. Cowart of Hatley, who was a grocer in Amory for 20 years and a justice of the first district for 16 years, died Oct. 4, 1956 at Gilmore Sanatorium following an illness of several months. He was 80. Services were held Oct. 5 at Hatley Primitive Baptist Church with burial in the Bethlehem Cemetery with Pickle Funeral Home in charge. He was born and reared in Itawamba County. He was a member of the Hatley Primitive Baptist Church.
Survivors included his wife and one brother, W. L. Cowart of Amory.
