Mantachie - Mildred Kent, 85, died July 23, 2008, at the Sanctuary Hospice House. She was born Oct. 8, 1922, to Sidney and Hattie Jackson Dobbs. She was a homemaker and a member of Parkers Chapel Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening and raising flowers.
Services were July 25 at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Mantachie with burial in Marietta Methodist Church Cemetery.
Survivors included two sons, Lee Kent of Tremont and Bob Kent of Clarksville, Ala.; two brothers, Horace Dobbs of Mantachie and Morris Dobbs of Marietta; one sister, Mary Nell McMahan of Booneville; 13 grandchildren, Brad, Justin, Jordan, Adam, Ryan, Steven, Lori Ann, Dale, Brandy and Brandon Kent, Bobby Barnes Jr., Brian Barnes and Joni Barnes; 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gurstel Kent, in 2001; two sons, Don Neil Kent and Gene Barnes; one daughter, Donna Marie Kent; and two brothers, Hoyt Dobbs and Junior Dobbs.
