Funeral services for Denson W. Roberts, prominent Fultonian and insurance salesman, were held Jan. 17, 1957 from the Fultonn Church of Christ. Mr. Roberts died at his home in Fulton at 3:45 pm on Jan. 16th after an illness of about three years. He was 62 years old. He died of Jaundice. Burial was in the Hillcrest Cemetery with Senter Funeral Home in charge. Mr. Roberts had been an elder in the Fulton Church of Christ for more than 20 years. He was a member of the Fulton Lions Club. For many years he had represented the Columbian Mutual Life Insurance Company as their agent in Itawamba County. At one time he was engaged in the electrical business and was a representative of a butane gas company.
Survivors included his mother, Mrs. J. W. Roberts of Fulton; his wife, Mrs. Bonnie Roberts of Fulton; four children, Mrs. Louise (John D.) Bethay of Memphis, Philip Roberts of Fulton, Marlin Roberts of Memphis, and Mrs. Maxine (G.W.) Smith of Fulton; three brothers, Clyde of Fulton, and Burgess and Jamie, both of Memphis; five sisters, Mrs. W. C. Cummings of Hapeville, Ga., Mrs. Roy Umfress of Camden, Tenn., Mrs. Tom Barton of Fredericktown, Mo., Mrs. Bob Brown of Hamilton, Ala., and Mrs. Ezell Clayton of Fulton.
Pallbearers were: Argie Wilson, Paul Clayton, Audie Clayton, Doyle Davis, Rodney Richardson and Joe Carl Ross.
