Funeral services for J. D. (Dave) Hankins were held from the Friendship Methodist Church on Jan. 16, 1957 with burial in the Friendship Cemetery with Hawkins Funeral Home in charge. Mr. Hankins died at his home in the Tombigbee Community on Jan. 15th. He was 80 years old. A retired farmer, Mr. Hankins was born and reared in Alabama before coming to this county. He was a member of the Methodist Church.
Survivors included his wife, Mrs. J. D. Hankins; two sons, Clarence and Elzie Hankins, both of Tombigbee Community; 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
